ASHA (American Schools and Hospitals Abroad) is a subprogram of USAID, it provides financial aids of hardware to promote American schools and hospitals abroad. Annually, the program accepts applications that should be proposed by an American agency and an overseas institution. In 2008, Project HOPE and Wuhan University HOPE School of Nursing’s joint application for the remote video teaching system was approved. The ASHA program spent 0.4 million dollars to buy the remote video teaching facilities, and Wuhan University spent 0.312 million dollars to implement the program, and the total amount of the funds is 0.712 million dollars.
